PETRI'S PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The Lems Laguna is a wide and light shoe to walk in, although not quite as wide as, for example, the Primal 3. A breathable and comfortable shoe, with sufficient cushioning on the barefoot scale even for beginners. The difference to the similar men's model Malibu is nominal and mainly in that Laguna's sizes are smaller.
On the scale of pure barefoot shoe - hybrid model - thick-soled barefoot shoe, I count the Laguna in the category of thick-soled barefoot shoes with its own insole. (NOTE! My own measurement shows that the total thickness of the sole is as much as 18 mm, compare Lems's own measurement 10 mm.)
Suitability for barefoot shoe beginners
The shoe is also well suited for getting used to barefoot shoes, even on asphalt, when you don't have many kilometers to start with. In the future, you can get thin-soled barefoot shoes or not get them at all, depending on your preferences. (Note! You can adjust the shoe by removing the insole if you want, so you can get a feel for what a slightly thinner-soled barefoot shoe feels like.)
Suitability for experienced barefooters
The shoe may even feel too unchallenging for someone who uses a lot of thin-soled barefoot shoes and it might feel little lazy to react underfoot? On the other hand, long shopping trips are nice and carefree when there is a little more cushioning underneath. You can also easily adjust the shoe by removing the insole if you want. Laguna is also a great looking shoe, so if you want to wear something other than fivefingers with jeans, this would be the Laguna.
