PETRI'S PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Here you are decent waterproof barefoot leather boots for you, with natural features that are important for the foot, such as zero heel height, no arch support and a wide toe box.

PETRIN NOTE! Although Lems says the shoes are "widest natural-shape fit", they are not particularly wide - we recommend the shoe for narrow to normal width feet, those with wider feet and ankles the shoe is not optimal.

The shoe fits snugly on most feet for a Chelsea-type shoe especially from heel and ankle. It is worth helping to put it on, especially at the beginning, with a long shoehorn. The shoe has good loops in the front and back, which you can slip your finger into to make putting it on easier. As the leather flexes, the putting on becomes smoother. The snug fit also means that the shoe does not slip when walking, which is of course a good thing.

Lems has taken into account different feet by providing extra thinner removable insoles with the shoes. If you want, you can get even more thinner insoles or even wear the shoe without an insole altogether - there is still enough cushioning.

The total thickness of the sole of the shoe is about 25 mm. This is much more than barefoot shoes in general, but it doesn't hinder the going because it's good for a person to have barefoot shoes with a thicker sole, especially in rain, sleet, freezing cold, etc., that is, quite often. In addition to everything, the Chelsea Boot Tuff looks great even with jeans!

On the scale of pure barefoot shoe - hybrid model - thick-soled barefoot shoe, I would put the Chelsea Boot Tuff in the "thick-soled barefoot shoe" category.

PETRI'S TIP: The leather softens with use and the upper soon becomes more flexible. The sole of the shoe also starts to become more flexible soon with use. Don't be scared by the tuff on the upper - the faux fur on the front and back of the upper doesn't extend much further down the inside of the shoe (see the last picture), meaning it doesn't get hot even when you wear the shoe outside of winter. From a Finnish perspective, the tuff is mostly a matter of style.

Suitability for barefoot shoe beginners

Go for it - the cushioning of the sole of the shoe gives you a safe journey as you explore the wonderful world of barefoot shoes! Great boots for even the harshest weather, as long as your foot isn't wider than normal.

Suitability for experienced barefooters
