PETRI'S PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
Wave is a good-looking barefoot sneaker that complements our sneaker selection in relation to the Champ 3.0. Wave is clearly thicker on the base and more of a standard sneaker than Champ. On the other hand, the difference with Zing is mainly in the upper material and the fact that Wave is a very traditional angular sneaker in terms of the shape of the sole, while Zing is a little more rounded. It's a matter of taste which one you like more.
On the scale of pure barefoot shoe - hybrid model - thick-soled barefoot shoe, I count the Wave as "hybrid" when used with its own insole. More barefoot feel when you remove the insole.
Suitability for barefoot shoe beginners:
If you can slowly increase the amount of daily use (your steps), then you can take Waves as first barefoot shoes - remember that patience is the key! Test different models and ask advice from the barefoot shoe experts!
Suitability for experienced barefooters:
Waves are easy going even on slightly longer walks. Clearly more of the feel of a standard sneaker in terms of the thickness and structure of the sole than e.g. in Champ - but it's not a bad thing if you can still find toe spaces and zero drops, is it? Long shopping trips on hard platforms are not quite as much of training as with more pure barefoot shoes. Take it easy for a while!
MANUFACTURER'S PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Materials used:
- The upper is made of high-quality Nappa leather. This material boasts excellent moisture resistance and is easy to care for.
- The lining of the shoe is made from Dermodry Coolmax® technical fabric, which enables constant moisture drainage. This type of lining speeds up the process of moisture-drainage and sweat absorption, thanks to which the skin of the foot remains dry. Dermodry Coolmax® is a soft, light, and breathable material typically used in luxurious footwear models and undergoes the most demanding technical quality tests performed in independent laboratories.
- The sole is made from soft synthetic rubber with high wear-and-tear resistance. The Retro Sole draws inspiration from street sports and art from the late 20th century.
- The removable insole comprises recycled PU material and microfiber, which provides excellent breathability while keeping your feet dry.
Barefoot properties
- Anatomic shape – The sneaker respects the shape of the feet. It creates roomy space for toes during movement, it prevents toes from being pressed or developing calluses.
- Material flexibility – The flexible sole enables necessary movement. The feet are not restricted and strengthen naturally.
- Zero-drop – The heel and front of the shoe are levelled. Thanks to this, the body posture and overall correction of the centre of gravity are improved
- Adaptive sole – 4 mm thick (without protrusions) stimulates nerve endings. It strengthens balance, and awareness of terrain and it protects the feet
- Lightweight – The Barberics sneakers are lightweight and with no arch, which prevents leg fatigue and supports the correct walking stereotype.
