Zero Drop - Wide Toe Box - Little heavier - Quite flexible and thicker sole

The first Barebarics PolarStride snowshoes for women (also for men up to size 43) are here! In addition to a nice-looking design, they also boast excellent functional properties. The upper is made of water-repellent textile material enriched by a waterproof membrane. Those who love to keep their feet warm will appreciate the lining made of high-quality fleece, synthetic wool and top Primaloft technology. Last but not least, the new PowerGrip has a specially designed tread pattern under the tip of the snowshoe for better grip and great anti-slip properties.

PETRI'S PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

This winter's new model Barebarics UrbanEdge complements our Be Lenka winter shoe range well. It is quite a bit more cushioned than Be Lenka's other warmest models (Winter 3.0 and Ranger 2.0 - Barebarics PolarStride has the same PowerGrip outsole as UrbanEdge has). On the other hand, the shoe also has a roomier instep than the mentioned models, which is also a good thing for many Finns especially. The toe-box is slightly narrower as in other Be Lenka's models. Many people also appreciate the fact that the shoe is easy to slip on.

UrbanEdge is a winter shoe for even the coldest weather! PolarStride also has a water proof membrane inside the shoe. You won't get cold if you just move a little and wear woolen socks no matter what the weather is - the ankle also stays warm and snow doesn't easily get into the shoe thanks to the height of the shoe.

On the scale of pure barefoot shoe - hybrid model - thick-soled barefoot shoe, I would put the PolarStride with its own insole in the category of thick-soled barefoot shoe. The total stack height is 16 mm. Without the insole, the shoe is a "hybrid shoe" - this model can be used without the insole even in winter!

Suitability for barefootshoe beginners:

Since the shoe has a total thickness and cushioning of up to 16 mm, the model is safe even for beginners. Of course, you should avoid kilometers of asphalt walk with hard heel first steps until you know your limits, but it won't be a disaster.

Test different models at the beginning and talk to barefoot experts!

Suitability for experienced barefooters:

PolarStride might feel a bit boring and heavy compared to Winter 3.0 for an experienced barefooter? On the other hand, take off the insole and the ground feel is immediately better - you can remove it in winter also because the sole still has insulation. An all-round functional shoe that works well during the coldest winter and also in thicker snow.

Note that the shoe is made in Vietnam and not in Europe like almost all other Be Lenka shoes.
